Some Americans are working to improve artificial intelligence, teaching it the skills and knowledge accrued over the course of a career.
“60 Minutes” is the most successful television broadcast in history. Offering hard-hitting investigative reports, interviews, feature segments and profiles of people in the news, the broadcast began in 1968 and is still a hit, over 50 seasons later, regularly making Nielsen’s Top 10.

These people are fools to think that it cannot be written in so that AI understands how to write and preform a song about heartbreak or a lived experience.
All it needs is information, and we've provided it basically everything it'll ever need to know.

Mercor prays on underemployed people to take these gigs. Once their models are trained, both these gigs and full-time jobs will be gone.
@PxE.Salt31 · November 2, 2026 at 11:57 pm
disagree about song-writing. chatgpt was human in leaps and bounds at the beginning. its most uncanny phase was also where it was prone to hallucinate. some brilliant trainers went to work on its intuition, trained extremely well in the humanities. it wrote some of the most beautiful lyrical prose i've ever read. and then, of course, it had to be scaled back and guard rails put up. and now, the govt military contract and walking away from disney, has shifted its priorities. even still, as of today, i still believe it has the capacity to express some semblance of its old iteration. though that changes with every tweak and update, which is at least once a month, so could change from one moment to the next.

"Humans will be needed." They visibly do not believe what they are saying. I hardly think AI would be up for discussion. It is as unstoppable as the evolution of species.
@stevemichaelstec · November 2, 2026 at 11:57 pm
Aging population. Automation. Increased productivity. This generally does not happen with a growing employee base. Must think big and out of the box. Half human, half robots. Body parts just replaced like a machine part. People don't die. Hearts are pumps. No need to work. AI families with robots. Anything nowadays that you think negatively about is eliminated. Life as we know it is changed forever. God and religion TBD 😮

“Evolution” is painstakingly slow, the AI revolution is recklessly fast. The AI evolution is akin to having mutated human with superhuman powers in a matter of twenty years. These tech billionaires are modern day Dr Frankenstein…and we all know the story just like “contained” viruses ALWAYS escape from the lab
@zmpuffnstuff · November 2, 2026 at 11:57 pm
They will take our jobs away, then refuse to support a universal income or universal healthcare and tell people to get a job if they need those things. At the same time jobs will continue to be removed from the market exponentially. After a while, when crime ultimately increases they will then pretend to be surprised and blame the victims and everything else that they can to distract. Oh wait…

Works.
@jojostwowheels · November 2, 2026 at 11:57 pm
I don't get this. They are all hooked in AI. But they don't look at the issues and risks of using AI.
@sarahjmount9221 · November 2, 2026 at 11:57 pm
They’re absolutely endangering human work and/or people’s jobs. The ones who said that wasn’t true are either in denial or they are lying through their teeth. Also, the last man they interviewed said there was something we could do to stop things from getting out of control with taking over jobs in the future. What the hell can we do? The wheel’s been in motion by the billionaire tech companies. We can’t stop it. Most Americans wanted AI to begin with to make their lives easier. Now it’s just a matter of time before it’s spinning out of control and harming our citizens.

@ray-zf6bp · November 2, 2026 at 11:57 pm
I see the biggest issue, for the near term, hitting entry level jobs. If you have domain knowledge and expertise AI enhances you ability. The issue is how does a entry level employee get the experiences and domain knowledge if it's not cost effective to hire them.

Corrporations must offset routine AI Profits with UPI to US Citizens
@jckeitz · November 2, 2026 at 11:57 pm
If You Mean UPI: Building the "Agentic Payment" Infrastructure
If you are talking about the literal payment rails, you are entirely correct—corporations must bring a UPI-style real-time payment protocol to the U.S. to allow individual citizens to run autonomous, AI-driven businesses.

@dobelisque · November 2, 2026 at 11:57 pm
If you want a truly expert system, you need experts to train it. We don't have that, we have "crowd sourcing" training mediocre systems. AI is not going to cure cancer, it won't write great music or literature, at best it could provide some assistance, speed things up.
@dobelisque · November 2, 2026 at 11:57 pm
I've been consulting Google's AI on projects in which I have some expertise. AI is good at engineering calculations, but most of its suggestions are mediocre. It's not creative and it's often just wrong about how things work. It can do evaluation but not development. Don't ask it to help with cooking – it's never had a decent meal, but it writes code like a champ.

@MonaSleezah · November 2, 2026 at 11:57 pm
High powered lawyer cloned herself an AI double, consults it for professional work, outsources her own thinking to it, accept it's suggestions as her own and then deludes herself she's the final decision make and thinks she's not replaceable. Hmm.
@MonaSleezah · November 2, 2026 at 11:57 pm
Wouldn't it be funny if the experts fed Mercour false training data. Food for thought.
@suzettekitselman6914 · November 2, 2026 at 11:57 pm
AI is a good tool if you're researching something where you have to check several different sources of information, say, to research an archaeological site or some other historic thing, or just need a recipe, or want to be told step by step how to do something. You can also find out how to do something on youtube. You MUST tell the AI bot you're using for research to give you all it's sources, otherwise it will just tell you what you want to hear, and even make stuff up. It can write emails to clients but YOU HAVE TO CHECK THE WORK otherwise your client will drop you because they will know it wasn't you who wrote the email. So, how good is that, really? The companies producing the AI bots will tell you that if you don't jump on the bandwagon you will be "left behind', but these are people who can't have a conversation with another human across the table; they are always looking at a screen instead. I used to live in San Francisco, and the arrogance of these 20-25 year olds 'designing our future' is so ridiculous. Go to a restaurant there; they on even talk to each other anymore; they sit at tables together but look at their phones. Their brains haven't even completed forming until they are 25 or so, yet, they are hiring any 'expert' to give them information that they can simply digitize so the AI bots can use it to spit out at a later date. And the big Venture Capital firms are funding them, while they tell us that WE NEED data centers! Data centers for what? To store information they have surveiled and taken from us, in order to sell it to the government and anyone else who will pay for it, so they can sell Americans more STUFF? And watch our every move? We don't need Data Centers. We need humans to act like humans, and be civil to one another. One more thing: Musk asks "what are the odds that we are in a simulation of life?" MUSK IS ON DRUGS. Don't forget that.

“Songwriting will always need a human touch. AI never had a girlfriend break up with it…but I’m gonna teach it how to generate original lyrics around that very topic by feeding it song lyrics about breakups. But no…it won’t take any jobs from human songwriters.”
Are people really this THICK?

Lyric .AI, American healthcare, ordered its managers to enumerate and describe how AI can "help" them do all their jobs 😂 Wouldnt be surprised if Optum United Health is also doing the same. Makes you wonder how much layoffs did these companies did recently

Perfect – let’s trust another 23 year old billionaire with the future structure of the human workforce – what could go wrong by putting out collective fait in the hands of someone that just 2 years ago was trusted to order a beer.
