Whistleblowers sounded the alarm over the potential threat artificial intelligence poses at a landmark hearing before the New York City Council on Monday. Representatives from OpenAI, Google and other big tech companies also testified as city lawmakers considered AI safeguards. CBS News’ Lauren Fichten reports. If you don't trust Jacob Coxon specifically, listen to the rest of the hearing. Listen to the other experts who testified. Listen to AI safety experts from other sources, such as Yoshua Bengio and Geoffrey Hinton, the most cited AI scientists of all time. The risks here are entirely real, and the people in Congress must know.

Anybody that doesn't see things getting worse and worse is so brain dead from staring at their phone that they don't realize they are a frog in a kettle of water that is being gradually heated. Technology has gradually been honed to have a primary purpose of concentrating wealth. And the beneficiaries are sociopathic narcissists bent on endlessly increasing their wealth and power. Now they even appear alongside the President at official events and set policy. Glad I'm old and don't have kids.

😌I am not Ai. I think that The crew of a giant aircraft carrier, after being on board for just eight months, almost went insane. If humans had to travel to alien planets in a small spaceship for months at a time, they might go insane due to limited space and restricted symptoms. We should put them in The Matrix (a virtual world) and have robots work in the spaceship instead.🤖

So let’s just pause right here. I’m not suggesting throw the AI baby out with the water. I’m asking for all citizens to vote in local &Statecelectiond too, get their positions on AI and data center plans and tell them we want to stop and pause until we can control this self evolving potential humanity destructor tool/agent of harm.

The current POTUS seems to only be interested in exploiting chaos and using AI to flood the zone with deranged AI posts. States are really the only place beyond his reach. The worst case is it collapses and US citizens end up paying for a bailout on an entire business sector that won’t be profitable for a decade.
