AirAisia Zest Now Flying In Manila – Win a round trip ticket to a local destination :)

*Contest instructions for the FREE round trip ticket to any local destination are at the bottom of the post. This is my first ever giveaway so I hope you join and support it :).

Hello everyone, how are you all? I’ve got some great news for you all, especially for the avid travelers.

I just attended an event held by AirAsia Zest and Nuffnang at New Orleans, Fort Bonifacio, High Street last Friday. The event was about the partnership between AirAsia Philippines and Zest Air.

Most of you have probably heard of or even flown on Zest Air. It’s one of the popular low cost airlines in the Philippines. But how about AirAsia? Have you heard about them?

I’ll be the first to admit that I honestly wasn’t aware that they were operating here in the Philippines. I know about them, but I didn’t know that they had planes at Clark Air base and have been operating locally since last year. So I was surprised to hear about it at the event.

For  those who don’t know about the airline, AirAsia is the leading and largest low-cost carrier in Asia and voted as the World’s Best Low Cost Airline in the annual World Airline Survey by Skytrax for five consecutive years from 2009 – 2013.

So it’s an extremely good thing to have them here, flying locally. And with their partnership with Zest Air, one good thing becomes something even better… AirAsia Zest is born.

Same old design, but with some added zest ;)

As a result, they don’t just get a new logo, they are now also able to provide AirAsia Zest, NAIA Terminal 4 flights for local destinations (they’re still in terminal 3 for international ones).

So yes boys and girls, AirAsia Zest is now in Manila and ready to fly you to many local destinations with the type of service that only the world’s best low cost airline can provide.

AirAsia Zest Local and International Flight destinations

AirAsia Zest flies to both local and international destinations, and they have two main hubs, Manila and Cebu. You can book Flights from both hubs at http://www.airasia.com.

If you’re flying from the AirAsia in Manila, available flights are to:

Local

  • Davao
  • Cebu
  • Kalibo (Boracay)
  • Cagayan De Oro
  • Puerto Princesa

International

  • Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
  • Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia
  • Miri, Malaysia (New)
  • Incheon, South Korea
  • Shanghai, China
  • Macau, China (New)

Both the Macau and Miri international Flights of AirAsia Zest are new additions to their International flight destinations.

AirAsia Zest is the only airline in the Philippines that flies directly from Manila to Miri. They will start flying to Miri on December 7, 2013 but Miri is already in their flight booking system. So if you’re planning to visit Miri’s GunungMuluis (a UNESCO World Heritage Site and famous for its caves and limestone formations), Niah (discovery site of prehistoric human remains), Lambir Hills (stunning waterfalls and wildlife) and LoaganBunut (hiking and birdwatching), feel free to book your flight today at http://www.airasia.com.

Another new flight that AirAsia Zest will be introducing in December is their direct flight from Manila to Macao. This is great news for all the people who are looking to try their luck at the dice ;). Macau, I’m sure you already know, is considered the Las Vegas of Asia and is predicted to become even bigger than Las Vegas in a decade or two. It’s closer to the Philippines so it’s naturally more convenient and cheaper for people who enjoy the Hotel and Casino experience to fly there instead of Vegas.

Like their flights to Miri, the Macau flight is already available for booking but AirAsia Zest planes will start flying there on December 6, 2013.

If you’re looking to fly to Macau, then you’ll find this schedule useful:

If you’re flying from the AirAsia Zest in Cebu, available flights are to:

Local

  • Manila
  • Davao (New)
  • Puerto Princessa (New)
  • Cagayan De Oro (New)

International

  • Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (New)

The cool thing about their Cebu Hub is that they fly from Cebu directly to the destinations listed above. They’re not connecting flights from Cebu to Manila to wherever. No more hassle of transferring to another plane and you end up saving a lot of time and money.

These flights are fairly new additions to the destinations of AirAsia Zest in Cebu as well. So if you’re planning to fly to these areas and you’re in Cebu, then it’s got to be AirAsia Zest.

Ok, so I think that covers most of the things I wanted to say about AirAsia Zest.

Now for the actual PR event, plus pictures of course J.

Like I said earlier, the event was held at New Orleans in Bonifacio High Street. It’s the one beside Clawdaddy. They’re actually connected, so you can enjoy both great Creole Cajun Cooking from New Orleans and Clawdaddy’s ribs and crabs.

I got there at around 6 and around 7 or 8 other bloggers were already there. You see AirAsia Zest held an early bird contest where they’d give out free round trip tickets to the invited bloggers who were really early. I was on time, but sadly not early.

So I sat down, chatted with some of the bloggers and waited for the event to officially start. And when it did surprise, surprise there he was, the winner of The Aprentice Asia Mr Jonathan Allen Yabut among the group from AirAsia Zest.

Mr. Yabut did most of the talking, while we all listened and took down notes. Oh and they also ran another contest to see who would be able to get the most retweets and create the most witty/funny one while this was all going on. The winner gets… drum roll please… tickets to any of the local destinations they fly to. Sadly I didn’t bring my iPad and my phone isn’t smart enough to connect to the internet lol. But it’s ok, I don’t think I could have won anyway even if I joined.

Here are the people who won the contests:

After Mr. Yabut ran us through all the new things AirAsia Zest was offering to it’s customersit was eating time and boy did they prepare a lot of food. I think they prepared 7 or 8 dishes for us and to be honest I was already extremely full with just the first dish alone lol. Was able to pictures of some of them. Food porn below ;).

  1. Hi! Trying out Davao-Manila. Hope I am lucky this time. Never won a free plane ticket before. But then again, I don’t usually join contests. Hehe. Thanks. :)

Thanks for this kind of promotional event! It would be great to win a pair of ticket for me and my wife. AirAsia Zest offer a lot of destination that we like to go like Boracay, Puerto Princesa, Kuala Lumpur (visiting there on January booked through AirAsia Zest!), Macau and South Korea.

Any location would be great! More power to AirAsia Zest!
